Biomimetic construction and bottom-up synthetic biology
Between 2010 and 2014 I completed my Physics MSci at Bristol University. For my final year project, I studied the interactions between synthetic alpha-helical membrane-active peptides and liposomes. I started my DPhil at Oxford in September 2014 at the Synthetic Biology Centre for Doctoral Training. My first lab rotation focused on the use of DNA as a structural material to template de novo peptide assemblies; my second in the Bayley lab will explore the communicative properties of aqueous droplet networks.
